How did you get started teaching yoga? How long have you have you been teaching yoga?
I loved taking regular classes and workshops at ESY, visiting studios in other cities, reading about yoga philosophy and anatomy. Call me a yoga geek…I just wanted more. I graduated from ESY teacher training in 2011 and began teaching because I wanted to share what I’d learned. Yoga is for everyone!
What is your greatest yoga moment?
I found that the fundamentals I’ve learned from practicing at ESY have prepared me to take a yoga class anywhere I go. I’ve tested this out by taking classes in Vancouver, Detroit, Toronto and Yellowknife.
What is your greatest life lesson learned through practice?
Finding my breath during stressful moments off the mat. I learned it through challenging my breath in asana and having a daily meditation practice.
What are your future plans or future projects?
I’d love to share yoga with my colleagues in the veterinary profession. We’re a group of people who love what we do but can be faced with some very stressful circumstances. Yoga teaches us skills for mindful living that help us take care of ourselves so we can then take care of others.
