Yoga Assisted Wheel
Yoga Assisted Wheel is another power-based, total-body move that will definitely take your asana practice to the next level!
Wheel pose, even when assisted, is a big back-bending, heart-opening posture that strengthens the arms and wrists, thighs and calves, abdominals, spine and glutes. With so many major muscle groups involved, the rotation of the shoulders and wrists, and the large curve initiated along the length of the spine, yoga practitioners with weaker wrists, tight shoulders, low back pain and tight groin muscles can encounter a restriction that prevents a safe range of motion when exploring this posture.
So today, I’m sharing some tips and tricks to help you, and your yoga students, safely explore Wheel pose! For this practice, you’ll need a heavier blanket or bolster, a wall, a block and a partner.
