Working on balance is important – especially as we get older.
Feeling confident in your sense of balance can carry you far into your golden years. From standing poses to handstands, yoga provides countless poses that work on improving your balance. Balancing poses target core conditioning, leg strength, and knee and ankle stability.
Working on your balance daily can help you find greater stability in your regular daily movements.
The following 10-minute yoga tutorial incorporates functional movements, combined with yoga poses that target balance. One thing to keep in mind is that your balance fluctuates daily. Some days you’ll find your balance is more steady and stable, while other days are shakier. This is completely normal! The amount of sleep you get, stressful thoughts, anxiety, and even the time of day can all influence your ability to maintain balance.
Let’s work together on improving your balance with the following yoga practice.
As you prepare for this practice, be sure to set your mat closer to a wall. You’ll also want to find a steady spot to focus on. Having a focal point can help you stay steady. Don’t forget to keep your sense of humour. Don’t let these poses stress you out – keep things light and fun! If you fall over, laugh it off and try again.
Do you Believe that Yoga is for Everyone, Regardless of Your Shape, Size, and Ability?
Creating yoga classes for every day people is my passion. Too often people won't go to a studio, or are afraid to take a yoga class, because they are afraid they won't fit in.
No one enjoys feeling like they don't belong.
That's why I create these weekly tutorials, to show you that yoga is for you, and can be modified to work for anyone.
If you're enjoying these videos and would like to help support me in this work, I have some things to show my appreciation.
