The number one challenge in Handstand is fear. In fact, I’ve nicknamed the fear that accompanies arm balances ‘fearasana’. But, everything we do on the yoga mat is a metaphor for life. So, safely exploring the fears that surround poses like Handstand is a great way to think about those same fears in the broader context of everyday life.
In the How to Stand on Your Hands video tutorial, you’ll learn some safe and effective ways of approaching Handstand. The most important thing to remember is that you can do this! You’ll need to get out of your own way if you plan to stand on your hands. Practicing is also key. Use the tips in this tutorial to build up to new variations of Handstand as they feel more comfortable to you. For this video, you’ll need a bolster, two blocks, a yoga strap, and access to a wall.
